SEABROOK RAILROAD BRIDGE – FENDER SYSTEM REPAIRS
Fender system repairs at the Seabrook Railroad Bridge will take place from November 22, 2024 through March 22, 2025. The work will be performed from 6:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. During work hours, the contractor will have a 35 ft. wide work barge in the channel. Vessels that can safely pass with the barge in place will be allowed to pass through the bridge as normal. However, vessels that cannot safely pass with the barge in place must contact the bridge operator two (2) hours in advance to schedule passage, and the barge will be moved and bridge opened for passage of the vessel at the scheduled time, which will be coordinated with the railroad. The work barge and any other waterborne equipment will be removed from the main channel at the end of each work day. Contact information for the bridge operator is shown below.

BRIDGE CURFEWS
The Port of New Orleans owns and operates four bridges (St. Claude Avenue, Florida Avenue, Almonaster Avenue, and the Seabrook Railroad Bridge) across the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal. To help expedite vehicular traffic during peak drive times, the St. Claude and Florida Avenue Bridges will not be drawn for maritime traffic during restricted hours on weekdays (Monday-Friday), excluding federal holidays, except in the case of an emergency. These restricted hours are known as bridge curfews.
