Chanel M. Labat, Director of Procurement, oversees Port of New Orleans procurement and small business contracting. She previously served as the Contract Manager for the Financial Reporting Division of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center as well as Purchasing Manager. Labat worked with the Convention Center for 14 years. As Contract Manager, she was responsible for the expedition and negotiation of contracts as well as informing vendors of the policies and procedures of the Center. She brings many years of solid professional experience in sales, servicing and buying.

Labat also previously served as Assistant Manager for Microsystems Sales and Services at LSU’s Health and Science Center for 14 years, where she supervised all sales and service staff, payroll preparation, and various purchasing and receiving responsibilities. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Delgado Community College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Xavier University.
