Ike McPherson serves as New Orleans Public Belt’s Director of Operation Planning. McPherson began his career in law enforcement as a Police Officer in Jefferson Parish. In 1998 he decided to pursue a career in railroading, and began working as a Switchman at Kansas City Southern Railroad. In December 2021, McPherson celebrated more than 20 years in railroading with the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad. Throughout his NOPB career he’s worked in many different roles including Switchman, Yardmaster, Trainmaster, and Superintendent. In 2022 he was promoted to Director, Operations Planning. In this role McPherson is responsible for maintaining customer relations, contract fulfillment, and ensuring operations run safely and efficiently.
