Disney Cruise Line announced it will sail from the Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) in early 2020. The 2,700-passenger Disney Wonder will embark on a variety of Caribbean and Bahamian cruises from New Orleans – marking the first time Disney Cruise Line will have a homeport in Louisiana.
Port of New Orleans and New Orleans Public Belt boards move Avondale revitalization forward

The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans and the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad Corp. approved separate resolutions authorizing nonbinding Cooperative Endeavor Agreements between the Port, NOPB, Jefferson Parish and Avondale Marine LLC to facilitate the proposed redevelopment of the former Avondale Shipyard site by addressing specific needs of Avondale Marine.
The Port of New Orleans announced the launch of their completely re-imagined new website that reflects the Port’s vision as an economic catalyst for the region while being more accessible to the Port’s multiple audiences.
Governor: "Mississippi River Ship Channel Deepening Project Moves Forward, Awaits Funding"

From the Governor's Office: The Mississippi River Ship Channel could be the first port complex on the Gulf Coast to reach a depth of 50 feet now that the Director’s Report has been signed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) will host the three-day National Waterways Conference (NWC) 2018 Annual Meeting, Sept. 12-14, 2018 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
Port NOLA has been awarded a $2.5 million U.S. Maritime Administration grant to support the current container-on-barge shuttle service between New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Memphis, and to launch a new container-on-barge shuttle service on the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal.

St. Claude Avenue Bridge Opens to all Traffic

Repair work at the St. Claude Avenue Bridge was completed this afternoon and the bridge is now operating normally and open to all traffic. No additional closures are scheduled at this time.
The St. Claude Avenue Bridge repair closure date has been extended to 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
