Port of New Orleans and New Orleans Public Belt boards move Avondale revitalization forward

The Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans and the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad Corp. approved separate resolutions authorizing nonbinding Cooperative Endeavor Agreements between the Port, NOPB, Jefferson Parish and Avondale Marine LLC to facilitate the proposed redevelopment of the former Avondale Shipyard site by addressing specific needs of Avondale Marine.

The Port of New Orleans announced the launch of their completely re-imagined new website that reflects the Port’s vision as an economic catalyst for the region while being more accessible to the Port’s multiple audiences.

From the Governor's Office: The Mississippi River Ship Channel could be the first port complex on the Gulf Coast to reach a depth of 50 feet now that the Director’s Report has been signed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
