The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) is celebrating its second annual Maritime Month through May and National Maritime Day on May 22nd to pay tribute to the region’s rich maritime history and to recognize the hardworking men and women who serve in the industry.
The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) will host students from New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics High School to participate in the 2nd Annual Maritime Month Career Exploration Day, an event that allows high school students to learn about the many career paths available in the maritime industry, on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.

Kansas City Southern (KCS) announced a new weekly service between the Port of New Orleans and Wylie, Texas (Dallas-market) beginning May 2018, relaunching intermodal service to this lane for the first time since 2005.

Gov. Edwards Appoints Charles H. Ponstein to Port of New Orleans Board of Commissioners

Gov. John Bel Edwards appointed Charles H. Ponstein to the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans as the St. Bernard Parish representative on the seven-member regional board. Ponstein was sworn in during today’s monthly Board meeting and will serve a five-year term succeeding William T. Bergeron.

The Port of New Orleans will host the annual Cargo Connections Conference (CCC) April 8-10 at The Chicory in downtown New Orleans marking the 10th anniversary of the dynamic three-day conference that focuses on the efficient transportation of energy products, steel and other raw materials, containerized cargo and more.
William H. Langenstein, III Appointed to Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans

Gov. John Bel Edwards appointed William H. Langenstein, III to the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans. Langenstein, who was sworn in during today’s monthly Board meeting, will serve a five-year term, succeeding Michael W. Kearney, one of four Orleans Parish representatives on the seven-member regional Board.
